Nisha Jose, wife of Kerala Congress MP Jose K. Mani and daughter-in-law of former state finance minister K.M. Mani recently dropped a bombshell with her claims that she was sexually harassed by a top politician's son. In her recently released memoir The Other Side of This Life, Nisha alleged that the incident took place during a train journey from Thiruvananthapuram to Kottayam, but she stopped short of revealing the identity of the person.
Even as her claims sparked off rumours about the identity of the alleged harasser, P.C. George, an independent MLA from Poonjar in Kottayam district, reacted sharply, saying these were part of a conspiracy being hatched against him and his son Shaun by Mani.
He said Mani and his son planned this “political game” to degrade his family after reports emerged that Shaun was planning to contest in Palai in next elections.
“As the wife of an MP, doesn't she have any shame to raise such allegations? As per her book, the incident happened eight years ago, when both Mani and me were working together. Jose K. Mani was the Youth Front president and my son Shaune was the general secretary. What kind of a man is Mani (If Nisha's allegations were true) that he made a person who harassed his daughter-in-law as the general secretary (of the Youth Front)?,” George asked during an interview with Manoramanews.com.
George further fired salvos at Jose K. Mani saying he would be termed a eunuch if he kept silent after his wife was molested.
Earlier, Nisha on being asked why a complaint was not registered immediately after the incident, had said that at the time she felt it was a private matter and that she had already confronted her harasser when the incident took place and proved to him that he was wrong.
