Actor and producer Sohail Khan has addressed the growing speculation surrounding his recent, noticeable weight loss. Following the conclusion of his stint on the reality show Alliance, viral videos of a significantly slimmer Sohail sparked intense debate on social media. Many fans expressed concern over his health, while others fueled rumours by questioning whether the 55-year-old had resorted to weight-loss medications like Ozempic or fat-burning supplements.
Setting the record straight, Sohail clarified that his transformation was neither medical nor artificial. Instead, he attributed the change to a challenging start during his time on Alliance. Entering the series as a wildcard contestant—his first experience in the reality television format—proved to be an intense adjustment. Sohail revealed that he felt claustrophobic in the initial days, and his situation worsened when he contracted a stomach bug during the first week of filming.
"A stomach bug added to that in the first week itself," Sohail explained in an interview with Hindustan Times. Rather than withdrawing from the show, he chose to adapt. To remain fit enough to compete in daily challenges, he strictly monitored his diet throughout his five-week journey on the show. Sohail emphasised that his primary focus was maintaining enough energy to participate alongside his co-contestants.
He pointedly dismissed the rumours regarding performance-enhancing drugs, stating, "So no Ozempic, no fat burners; I'm only taking pure and loads of love and affection from everyone."
This was not the first time his physique had been discussed on the show. Earlier in the season, during a guest appearance, his brother Salman Khan noted that Sohail had already lost 12 kilograms. Reflecting on the overall experience, Sohail expressed gratitude for the emotional support he received from his fellow participants, describing the bonds he formed as a "new family."
Ultimately, the actor credits his viral transformation to a combination of disciplined dietary choices during an illness and the mental resilience required to complete his stint in the reality house.
