A job call for masturbation consultants on X (formerly Twitter) has left social media users confused. Is it for real? Must be a prank: most of the netizens' reactions to the viral post.
However, Joi AI, a US-based AI startup that posted the job opportunity, says it is very much real. "We’re hiring 10 Masturbation Consultants. $2,000/month to test our new Daily Guided Masturbation feature and document the effects on stress, sleep and mood. Yes, it’s real. Yes, you get paid," mentioned the post.
The startup is reportedly hiring masturbation consultants to test a new feature for which the selected candidates would be paid 1.9 lakhs per month. The firm also mentioned that around 10,000 applications were received for the post. The participants are required to test a feature and give their feedback on the effects on stress, sleep and mood.

What is masturbation?
It is the self-stimulation of your genitals or other sensitive areas of your body for sexual arousal or even for pleasure.
Does masturbation improve sleep?
As per Medical News Today, masturbation releases hormones and neurotransmitters to help reduce stress while promoting relaxation, which may make it easier to fall asleep.
A 2019 study where 778 adults were surveyed found there was a clear perception of favorable sleep outcomes associated with orgasm and many respondents felt masturbation helped reduce the time it takes to fall asleep.
