"Ranabaali", starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, has completed its first week in theatres with a worldwide gross collection of ₹63.65 crore. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the period action drama recorded a steady start but witnessed a noticeable drop in collections towards the end of its opening week.
As per Sacnilk's reported figures, the film earned ₹45.20 crore in net collections in India, while its domestic gross stood at ₹52.55 crore. Overseas markets contributed ₹11.10 crore to the total worldwide gross.
The film saw a sharp drop in collections on Thursday. On its opening day, Friday, "Ranabaali" collected ₹9.25 crore in India. Collections fell to ₹7.30 crore on Saturday before rising slightly to ₹7.50 crore on Sunday. The Dussehra boost helped the film collect ₹5.40 crore on Monday and ₹7.10 crore on Tuesday.
However, the film's earnings dropped to ₹5.50 crore on Wednesday and fell further to ₹3.15 crore on Thursday, its seventh day. This marked a 42.7% decline compared with Wednesday's collection, highlighting the slowdown in its theatrical performance.
On Thursday, the film screened across 2,112 shows in India, down from 2,232 shows the previous day. It recorded an overall theatre occupancy rate of 31% and sold approximately 2.72 lakh tickets. By the end of its first week, "Ranabaali" had sold around 35.84 lakh tickets across India.
Reports say "Ranabaali" is heading toward a box office disaster, especially for distributors. The film was reportedly made on a massive budget estimated between ₹120 crore and ₹150 crore. Trade analysts stress the need for a theatrical share of roughly ₹60 crore to ₹65 crore (that is, from a worldwide gross target of around ₹130 crore) to reach the break-even point and be considered a hit. However, it has barely reached half of its required target.
