"Jailer 2" has made an impressive start at the international box office, earning an official cumulative overseas gross of ₹152 crore in its first three days. According to updated figures tracked by Sacnilk, the Rajinikanth-starrer has emerged as a major force in overseas markets, with international earnings contributing significantly to its overall box office performance.
The film collected ₹57 crore on Thursday, its opening day, followed by ₹43 crore on Friday. The second-day figure was revised upwards from the initial estimate of ₹40 crore. On Saturday, the film added another ₹52 crore, taking its total overseas gross to ₹152 crore.
With this strong opening, "Jailer 2" has already surpassed the lifetime overseas collections of several popular Tamil films. These include Rajinikanth's "Vettaiyan", which earned ₹82 crore internationally, and "Ponniyin Selvan: I", which collected ₹130 crore.
It has already surpassed "Coolie" for the fastest achievement of this level by a Tamil film. It has also reportedly recorded the highest standalone overseas opening performance among films released in 2026, moving ahead of "Dhurandhar 2".
The sequel is now closing in on some of Tamil cinema's biggest overseas records. Vijay's "The Greatest of All Time" earned ₹160.25 crore during its entire international run, leaving "Jailer 2" just ₹8.25 crore short of that mark. It also needs around ₹44 crore more to overtake Vijay's "Leo", which collected ₹196 crore overseas.
Rajinikanth's first "Jailer" recorded a lifetime overseas gross of ₹199 crore. Meanwhile, the actor's science-fiction blockbuster "2.0", directed by Shankar, remains the biggest target at present, with an international collection of ₹341 crore.
