Veteran actor Nana Patekar has died at the age of 75 after suffering a heart attack at his residence in Goa’s Dona Paula. He suffered the heart attack in the middle of the night. According to reports, he was rushed to a hospital where doctors tried to revive him with CPR, but he died at 5:20 am. Patekar's residence is about five minutes away from the hospital.

Dr Shekhar Salkar, head of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, reportedly said that a ‘medico-legal case’ (MLC) has been registered in the matter and an autopsy will be performed.

The actor's sudden death has shocked his fans and industry colleagues, as he seemed to be in good health when he attended an event here.

A major update has now emerged regarding Nana Patekar’s last rites. Nana Patekar’s last rites will be performed in Pune. The cremation will take place in Donje village, in the Bhor tehsil, Marathi media reports said.

According to local media, Nana Patekar’s last wish was that his final rites should be performed at his farm in Donje.

It was Nana Patekar’s son, Malhar Patekar, who confirmed the news of his passing. After receiving the information, his family left for Goa. Nana Patekar was in Goa for some private work. Malhar said that Nana’s mortal remains would be brought to Pune after noon. The same was later officially released by a representative of his social organisation.

When Malhar and the family received the news of Nana’s death, they were in Pune. Malhar also clarified that he did not have detailed information about the matter, TV9 Marathi said.
