Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, experts believe that the final box-office performance of the movie will depend largely on its Indian audience, especially viewers in the Hindi heartland markets.

Its folk-thriller setting appears to have connected strongly with audiences there, with the Chhath Puja season helping drive significant interest. What began as a modest release has therefore turned into a strong regional box-office run.
