Nani’s action drama "The Paradise" saw a sharp drop in collections on its first Monday (Day 5) compared with the weekend. The film earned ₹5 crore net in India on Day 5 from 5,804 shows.
With this collection, "The Paradise" has now earned ₹97.10 crore net in India. Its total India gross collection stands at ₹114.85 crore. The film also added ₹0.75 crore from overseas markets on Monday, taking its overseas gross total to ₹30 crore. Its worldwide gross collection has now reached ₹144.85 crore, as per trade portal Sacnilk.
The Monday collection was a significant drop from Sunday. On Day 4, the film collected ₹15.70 crore net in India. The ₹5 crore Day 5 figure represents a decline of around 68.2 per cent.
Despite the fall, the film remains just short of an important milestone. With ₹97.10 crore in India net collections, "The Paradise" needs another ₹2.90 crore to cross the ₹100 crore mark. If the film maintains its current pace, it could reach the milestone on Tuesday.
Notably, the film’s Day 5 performance is still stronger than several of Nani’s recent releases when compared at the same stage. "Dasara", the last Nani-Srikanth Odela movie, collected around ₹4 crore on its fifth day and had earned approximately ₹62 crore net in India after five days. "Saripodhaa Sanivaaram" collected ₹3.25 crore on Day 5 and had reached ₹36.75 crore after five days. "Hi Nanna" recorded ₹1.55 crore on its fifth day and had a five-day total of ₹22.15 crore.
The box office trajectory so far
"The Paradise" had a massive opening on Thursday. Day 1 remains its biggest single-day collection, with ₹34.65 crore net from India, supported by a wide release across 9,732 shows.
The film also had preview screenings on Wednesday. These previews collected ₹11.60 crore despite being shown on only around 900 screens. The limited screenings recorded theatre occupancy of 79 per cent, making the preview day particularly strong in those terms.
After its big opening, "The Paradise" remained fairly stable throughout the weekend. From Friday to Sunday, its daily collections stayed around the ₹15 crore range. However, Monday brought a typical weekday drop, with collections falling to ₹5 crore. Theatre occupancy also declined to 18.6 per cent.
While "The Paradise" has experienced a steep percentage drop since its opening, its huge initial collections have given it a strong lead. The Wednesday previews and Thursday opening together contributed more than ₹46 crore, providing a substantial early boost.
