Amazon Prime Video is moving ahead with more stories from the world of "Reacher". The streamer has officially renewed "Reacher" for a sixth season, just days after Season 4 ended on September 16, 2026. The early renewal shows how important the action series has become for Prime Video.
Season 5 is already in production in Toronto and is based on Lee Child’s 20th novel, "Make Me". Since the fifth season has not yet been released, Season 6 is still in the early stages of development. Prime Video has not announced a release date, and it has also not confirmed which book will be adapted for the sixth season.
Alan Ritchson, who plays Jack Reacher, has previously spoken about his favorite book in the series. He said "Die Trying", the second novel, is his favourite and mentioned that he had received approval to use it before plans changed after "someone got re-elected."
The renewal comes after another major success for "Reacher". Season 4 reportedly attracted 66 million viewers worldwide during its first 28 days, putting it among the five most-watched original series seasons in Prime Video history. (Read our review here.)
Meanwhile, Prime Video has not yet officially renewed "Neagley" for a second season. The eight-episode first season has only recently been released, so Amazon may be waiting to see how audiences respond before making a decision.
There are already signs that a second season could move forward. Co-creator Nicholas Wootton has said that the creative team has mapped out character arcs and written storylines for Season 2. The team is reportedly waiting for Amazon to give the project the official green light.
"Neagley" has also received strong reactions from viewers and critics, with some reviewers describing it as a strong companion to "Reacher". The series also has plenty of potential source material. Lee Child has co-written "Zero Margin", a new thriller that is the first book in the franchise to feature Frances Neagley as the main character.
Industry reports have suggested that Amazon could eventually alternate "Neagley" and "Reacher" seasons, allowing the studio to keep releasing new stories from the franchise on a regular basis.
Beyond television, Ritchson is also building a busy film career. After becoming widely known through "Reacher", he has taken on a growing number of major movie roles, further establishing himself as one of Hollywood’s leading action stars.
