Comedian Samay Raina and 12th Fail heroine Medha Shankr, rumoured to be dating, are the latest subject of digital buzz after an anonymous Reddit post claimed that the two were planning to get married in December. Samay and Medha responded to the claims, clearing up all the rumours.
An anonymous Reddit user, who claimed to be a close family friend of Raina, posted, “After speaking to his mother yesterday, I can say that Samay Rana and Medha Shankr are planning to get married this December.”
The post came amid speculation that Samay and Medha were both on vacation in Switzerland after social media users pointed out similarities in their Instagram pictures and locations. Some users even claimed that they spotted them together in the country. The Reddit post referenced this claim, saying “For now, they’re not enjoying their vacation, but Samay wants to marry Medha as soon as possible.”
However, neither of them confirmed if they were on holiday together.
Rumours about the couple sparked after they were spotted partying together. Later, Medha appeared on Samay’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ season 2 as one of the panellists, which further fueled the rumours. During the episode, Samay called Medha his “sabse accha dost” or “very good friend.”
On Sunday, Samay quashed all wedding rumours through a sarcastic Instagram story, saying, “December mai toh mera India tour hai @medhashankr sorry will have to postpone (I have my Indian tour in December, sorry we’ll have to postpone).”
Medha also took to Instagram and shared a post of a baby cow lying on a bed, adding the caption, “Me scrolling past all the baseless wedding rumours.” She added the specific lyrics “Kya keh diya hai tumne yeh janam” (What have you said, sweetheart?).
Medha is reportedly ready to feature in a new detective comedy that also stars Sunny Kaushal and Nimrat Kaur in lead roles. Samay, on the other hand, is working on ‘India’s Got Latent’ season 2.
