After six days, Parvathy Thiruvothu’s “Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar” has grossed ₹12.10 crore in India, with a domestic net total of ₹10.42 crore, per data reported by Sacnilk.
The Malayalam investigative thriller’s performance in the first six days is comparable to another acclaimed thriller that picked up due to strong word of mouth in the same time, “Kishkindha Kaandam” (which also starred Vijayaraghavan in a pivotal role). In fact, it has done better at the domestic box office than that Asif Ali-led thriller. On Day 6, it had grossed about ₹10.94 crore in India and ₹9.50 crore in net collections.
“Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar”, in terms of comparative performance, also belongs to the same category as other low-to-mid budget Malayalam hits such as “Romancham” and “Garudan”. “Romancham” netted ₹5.82 crore after six days and grossed ₹6.75 crore in India, while “Garudan” pulled a net total of ₹7.90 crore and a domestic gross of ₹9.35 crore.
“Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar” has remarkably managed the cleanest, most efficient first six-day run of this entire group. It cleared the ₹10 crore net mark faster than “Kishkindha Kaandam” owing to a slightly stronger start (₹92L net vs ₹45L net). While “Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar” leads this pack in 6-day domestic revenue and has reportedly covered its budget, it remains to be seen if it will have the same legs as “Kishkindha Kaandam” and “Romancham” in the coming weeks.
