Actors Soori and Suhas' latest Tamil-Telugu bilingual has recorded a strong rise at the box office over its opening weekend, helped by positive word-of-mouth and growing audience interest. On Day 3, the film collected an estimated ₹10 crore net in India from 3,354 shows. This takes its three-day India net total to ₹21.55 crore, while the India gross stands at ₹25.23 crore, per Sacnilk data.
The film has also performed well in overseas markets. It earned around ₹2.50 crore on Day 3, taking its overseas gross to ₹5 crore. As a result, "Mandaadi" has reached a worldwide gross of approximately ₹30.23 crore after three days.
On Thursday, its opening day, "Mandaadi" collected ₹4.85 crore net in India despite releasing on fewer screens than some competing films. Collections increased by 38.1% on Friday, reaching ₹6.70 crore. The biggest jump came on Saturday, when the film recorded a 49.3% increase and collected ₹10 crore.
This rise was supported by strong theatre occupancy. The Tamil version recorded overall occupancy of around 57–59% on Day 3. Morning shows registered 37.92%, while afternoon, evening and night shows reached 60.62%, 62.46% and 74.62%, respectively. The Telugu version recorded overall occupancy of around 42.5–43%, with night shows reaching 53.91%.
The opening 3-day performance marks an important milestone for actor Soori, who has increasingly established himself as a reliable lead actor. "Mandaadi" has delivered his biggest three-day opening as a solo lead, ahead of "Garudan" (₹13.40 crore net) and "Viduthalai Part 1" (₹11.50 crore net).
The three-day India net of ₹21.55 crore puts it in the league as other successful Tamil films such as Sivakarthikeyan's "Maaveeran", Dhanush's "Thiruchitrambalam" and Karthi's "Sardar" (2022).
"Garudan", released in 2024, was Soori's highest-grossing film as a solo lead, and pulled in a final worldwide gross of ₹59.55 crore. "Mandaadi" has achieved half of that target in just 3 days. "Viduthalai Part 1", released in 2023, finished its lifetime run with a worldwide gross of around ₹40.03 crore. With the current pace of "Mandaadi", it is on track to beat the Vetrimaaran film's lifetime score by the end of its first week.
