Season 2 of "The Paper", the official mockumentary spin-off of "The Office", is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, on Peacock. The new season returns to the fictional Toledo Truth Teller newspaper and continues the story of its quirky newsroom staff.
Unlike the first season, which followed a more traditional TV release format, Season 2 will arrive as a complete binge-watch. All 10 episodes will be released at once on Peacock at 3:00 a.m. ET (12:00 a.m. PT).
For viewers in India, the episodes will be available on Thursday, September 10, starting at 12:30 p.m. IST. Indian audiences can watch the full season on JioHotstar. The episodes may also be available through bundled services such as Airtel Xstream Play via OTTplay Premium.
What to expect in Season 2
The new season expands the newspaper's world and gives its characters more room to develop. After the Toledo Truth Teller wins several Ohio Journalism Awards at the end of Season 1, Editor-in-Chief Ned Sampson, played by Domhnall Gleeson, decides that the paper needs a major story. His investigation into a local private club, however, puts the future of the struggling newspaper at serious risk.
Romance will also play an important role. Ned and star reporter Mare, played by Chelsea Frei, find themselves dealing with a growing attraction. Their secret relationship has already drawn comparisons to Jim and Pam from "The Office".
Other characters are also expected to get stronger storylines. The newsroom staff begin to grow into more confident reporters, while Esmeralda, played by Ramona Young, continues searching for her place in the workplace.
The second season will maintain the show's satirical style, with jokes aimed at modern media culture. Expect parodies of viral events, including a spoof inspired by the infamous Glasgow Wonka experience, as well as office podcasts and other newsroom absurdities.
The main cast returns, including Sabrina Impacciatore, Melvin Gregg and Tim Key. "The Office" alum Oscar Nuñez, who played Oscar Martinez, will also continue to connect the new series to its original universe.
