"Mirzapur: The Movie" has delivered a huge opening at the box office, earning ₹132.35 crore worldwide in its first three days. The film crossed the ₹100 crore mark in gross collections in India alone, supported by a strong Sunday performance and an impressive 11,344 shows across the country.
Based on the popular Prime Video series, the film has shown that the "Mirzapur" franchise has a powerful audience beyond streaming. Directed by Gurmeet Singh, the movie successfully brings the world of the hit web series to the big screen. Its opening weekend has also set new records for Excel Entertainment and made the film one of the strongest theatrical adaptations of an Indian streaming franchise.
The film's domestic net collection reached ₹93.75 crore over the three-day weekend. More importantly, its business grew each day, suggesting that strong audience word-of-mouth played a major role rather than the film depending only on its initial fan excitement.
The movie opened on Friday with ₹25.75 crore, making it the fourth-highest Hindi opener of 2026. The opening was helped partly by the Janmashtami holiday and became the biggest first-day collection in Excel Entertainment's history.
Saturday brought an even stronger result, with collections rising to ₹32 crore, a 24.3% increase. Theatre occupancy reached 52.7%, as regular moviegoers joined the franchise's established fanbase.
Sunday saw another major jump, with ₹36 crore in net collections, up 12.5% from Saturday. The film was especially strong in single-screen theatres across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi, recording overall Sunday occupancy of 66.79%.
The film performed strongly across both multiplexes and single screens. India's top three national multiplex chains contributed nearly 47% of Sunday's revenue, while single-screen theatres reported packed shows.
Overseas, the film added another ₹20 crore, taking its worldwide gross comfortably beyond ₹130 crore and giving "Mirzapur: The Movie" a highly successful start.
The return of fan favourites Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu as Munna Bhaiya generated significant excitement before release and helped drive advance bookings. New additions such as Ravi Kishan and Jitendra Kumar also brought fresh energy to the franchise's familiar world of violence, ambition and power struggles.
