Prime Video is coming out with a new historical Hindi-language series on September 11, 2026. Created and directed by filmmaker Nikkhil Advani ("Mumbai Diaries: 26/11"), "The Revolutionaries"  tells the story of lesser-known revolutionaries who chose armed resistance in their fight against British rule in India.

Set mainly around 1912, decades after the First War of Independence in 1857, the series follows a group of young Indians who refuse to accept colonial rule. They believe that armed rebellion is necessary to awaken the nation and inspire people to fight for freedom. Working in secret, they build underground networks, plan attacks, and prepare for a wider uprising against the British Raj.

Beyond its action and political conflict, "The Revolutionaries" also explores the personal struggles of those involved in the freedom movement. The story highlights strong friendships, painful betrayals, difficult choices, sacrifice, and the determination to achieve independence.

The series is inspired by Sanjeev Sanyal’s bestselling non-fiction book, "Revolutionaries: The Other Story of How India Won Its Freedom". The screenplay has been written by Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang, and Rutvi Mehta. It is produced by Emmay Entertainment, with Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani serving as producers.

The cast includes "Laapata Ladies" actress Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri, Bhuvan Bam ("Taaza Khabar") as Rash Behari Bose, Rohit Saraf ("Mismatched") as Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Gurfateh Pirzada ("Call Me Bae") as Bagha Jatin, and Jason Shah ("Jigra") as General Dyer.

Season 1 will contain eight episodes. All eight episodes are scheduled to be released together on September 11, allowing viewers to watch the entire story in one binge-watching session. The series will stream in Hindi, with dubbed versions available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali.
