'Toxic' Day 2 Box Office: Yash film set to cross ₹200 crore worldwide, sees sharp drop in numbers
Despite a significant 62.8% drop on its second day to ₹37.65 crore, the film has garnered ₹138.75 crore net in India and ₹24.25 crore overseas
Yash-starrer "Toxic" saw a major drop in box office collections on its second day, but the film continued to post strong overall numbers largely owing to its performance in the Hindi market. On Day 2, "Toxic" collected a net ₹37.65 crore in India from 22,629 shows. This takes its two-day India net

Yash-starrer "Toxic" saw a major drop in box office collections on its second day, but the film continued to post strong overall numbers largely owing to its performance in the Hindi market.
On Day 2, "Toxic" collected a net ₹37.65 crore in India from 22,629 shows. This takes its two-day India net collection to ₹138.75 crore, while the India gross collection has reached ₹165.85 crore. The film also performed well overseas, earning ₹8 crore on its second day and taking its total overseas gross to ₹24.25 crore. With these combined figures reported by box office portal Sacnilk, "Toxic" has earned a worldwide gross of ₹190.10 crore in just two days.
However, the second-day figures also reveal a sharp slowdown. The ₹37.65 crore Day 2 net represents a 62.8% drop from the ₹101.10 crore collected on the opening day. The decline is particularly significant because "Toxic" had become Yash's second consecutive film to cross the ₹100 crore mark on its first day.
The film hasn’t been able to match up to Yash's previous blockbuster, "KGF: Chapter 2". That film opened with ₹116 crore net in India and followed it with an impressive ₹90.50 crore on Day 2. Its two-day total stood at ₹206.50 crore net, with a worldwide gross of around ₹240 crore. By comparison, "Toxic" has collected ₹138.75 crore net in India after two days.
The pattern evokes other big-budget films that benefited from massive opening-day excitement but experienced sharp drops after mixed audience reactions. Films such as "Saaho", "Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire", "Adipurush", and "Devara: Part 1" also saw significant declines after strong openings.
One of the most important factors to consider is the film's current run in the Hindi market. The Hindi version collected ₹55 crore on Day 1 and ₹24.25 crore on Day 2, giving it a two-day total of ₹79.25 crore. That accounts for 57.1% of the film's total India net collection.
The Kannada original, meanwhile, collected ₹23.30 crore on Day 1 and ₹8.50 crore on Day 2, for a two-day total of ₹31.80 crore. Telugu collections fell even more sharply, from ₹16 crore on Day 1 to just ₹3 crore on Day 2. Tamil and Malayalam together contributed ₹8.70 crore over two days.
These numbers show a clear difference between the film's regional markets. The Kannada market dropped by more than 63%, while Telugu collections fell by over 81%. In contrast, the Hindi market has remained comparatively stable.
This suggests that Yash's growing popularity outside Karnataka, largely built through the "KGF" franchise, is helping "Toxic" maintain momentum despite mixed word-of-mouth. Late-night shows in North India reportedly maintained occupancies of around 41%, indicating that audience interest has not disappeared.
Ultimately, "Toxic" has made a powerful start but now faces the challenge of maintaining its collections. Its ₹190.10 crore worldwide gross after two days is impressive, but the steep Day 2 fall means the film's long-term box office performance will depend heavily on how audiences respond over the coming days. The Hindi market could prove especially important in determining whether the movie, directed by Geetu Mohandas ("Moothon", "Liar's Dice"), can recover from its early drop and turn its massive opening into a sustained blockbuster run.
