According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, "Bethlehem Kudumba Unit" has maintained a stronger run in theatres, collecting Rs 20.85 crore net in India in its first three days.
The film opened with Rs 4.90 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 7.15 crore on Day 2 and Rs 8.80 crore on Day 3. The film passed the crucial Monday (Day 4) test, minting Rs 6.90 crore.
The film's India gross currently stands at Rs 33.32 crore and total India net at Rs 28.53 crore. Overseas, it grossed ₹44 crore, taking the worldwide gross to ₹76.40 crore.
Meanwhile, Khalifa has collected an estimated Rs 12.73 crore net in India in five days. The film opened with Rs 5.35 crore and collected Rs 2.40 crore on day two. Its collections stood at Rs 2.05 crore on Day 3 and Rs 2.10 crore on Day 4, before earning an estimated Rs 0.83 crore on Day 5.
The Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer has grossed Rs 14.79 crore in India, while its overseas collection stands at Rs 16.25 crore. Its worldwide gross has reached an estimated Rs 31.04 crore.
"Bethlehem Kudumba Unit", directed by Girish A.D., stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles. Vysakh’s “Khalifa”, meanwhile, is one of the major releases of the Onam season, with Prithviraj Sukumaran headlining the film.
The two films arrived in theatres during the busy Onam holiday period and are among the major Malayalam releases competing for audiences this festive season, while Yash-starrer “Toxic” releases in theatres tomorrow (Aug. 26).
