"Vishwanath & Sons" is officially the fastest film in Suriya's career to hit the ₹100 crore worldwide gross milestone. It achieved this feat in just 2 days. However, "Karuppu" holds the record for the fastest net collection earnings. "Vishwanath & Sons" took 10 days to reach the 100 crore net milestone, while "Karuppu" took 4 days.
Suffice to say, Suriya has achieved a double bonanza in 2026. With "Karuppu" hitting over ₹300 crore and "Vishwanath & Sons" nearing the ₹200 crore mark globally, Suriya will have generated over ₹500 crore at the box office by the end of the month.
"Vishwanath & Sons" easily overshadowed the entire lifetime revenue of both "Kanguva" (₹105 Cr) and "Retro" (₹102 Cr) within its first week of release. Unlike "Karuppu", which was an absolute monster in Tamil Nadu, "Vishwanath & Sons" is relying heavily on a stellar run in the Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh/Telangana), where it holds strong.
As per box office figures tracked by Sacnilk, the official worldwide gross collection for "Vishwanath & Sons" stands at ₹169.67 crore as of Day 10. It has officially secured its position as the third-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 to date, behind "Jana Nayagan" and "Karuppu". In North America, it became the first Kollywood film of 2026 to enter the $2M club.
When looking at the weekend and weekday performance of "Vishwanath" and "Karuppu", the latter was an absolute juggernaut on its first weekdays, pulling in an incredible ₹12.75 crore net on its first Tuesday alone. In comparison, "Vishwanath" slowed down faster during the weekdays (dropping to ₹6.35 crore on its first Tuesday) before bouncing back during its second weekend. "Vishwanath" has an overseas advantage, which contributed to the worldwide total. "Karuppu" had an upper hand locally.
