"Awarapan 2" continued its strong run at the box office on Day 2, collecting ₹33.75 crore net in India across 10,496 shows. This was a 53.4% jump from its Day 1 net collection of ₹22 crore, as per box office data tracked by Sacnilk.
The film’s strong performance helped it cross the ₹50 crore net mark in India within just two days. Its total India net collection now stands at ₹55.75 crore, while its India gross collection has reached ₹66.90 crore.
The sequel also performed well in overseas markets. It earned ₹3.50 crore gross on Day 2, taking its total overseas collection to ₹6 crore. With this, "Awarapan 2" has earned ₹72.90 crore worldwide in two days.
The Independence Day holiday weekend appears to have played an important role in the film’s strong growth. Led by Emraan Hashmi, the sequel has quickly emerged as a major theatrical success.
The film is also performing strongly despite tough competition. It is sharing the box office with Hollywood release "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and Sunny Deol’s partition drama "Batwara 1947". Even with these releases in cinemas, "Awarapan 2" has attracted a strong domestic audience.
With an estimated production budget of ₹25–45 crore, the film is likely to have already covered this cost within 48 hours. Its opening weekend is also shaping up to be a career-best for Emraan Hashmi, surpassing the lifetime earnings of the original "Awarapan" and "Murder".
With the holiday weekend still underway, the film is expected to add significantly to its total.
