“Women in Blue” (Las Azules) returns for a second season is here. Apple TV will exclusively premiere the female-led cop drama on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Season of this Spanish-language crime drama consists of eight episodes, releasing new episodes on a weekly basis. The finale (Episode 8) is slated for September 30, 2026.

Season 2 is a direct continuation of the events from Season 1. It picks up with the original characters navigating their roles in the police department during the 1970s. Per the official logline, the new seasons shifts its focus to an intense, multi-layered conspiracy. After the body of a student activist is found, Mexico's trailblazing female police force is drawn into a high-stakes investigation tied directly to the 1968 student massacre. As a vigilante begins targeting corrupt individuals and delivering "justice" straight to the police's doorstep, the lines between victim and perpetrator quickly blur.

The show features an entirely Latin American cast and crew. All four central actresses who played Mexico's pioneering first female police force return to reprise their roles:Bárbara Mori returns as María, who begins the season with a promotion to lieutenant.Ximena Sariñana returns as Ángeles.Natalia Téllez returns as Valentina.Amorita Rasgado returns as Gabina.

The production remains grounded in Mexico, capturing the 1970s Mexico City atmosphere, and has been lauded for its efforts to maintain the historical authenticity of the era. The series continues to be led by its original creators: International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar is back with co-creator Pablo Aramendi. Additional episodes are directed by Catalina Aguilar Mastretta and Samuel Kishi.
