Vin Diesel has confirmed that "Fast Forever" is the official title of the eleventh and final film in the main "Fast & Furious" franchise. The movie will bring the long-running story of Dominic Toretto and his family to an end. Diesel, who plays Dominic, recently shared an exciting update, saying he has read the latest script by Michael Lesslie and called it "the best script I have read in decades."
“I am still crying…,” he added further in an Instagram post accompanied by the trailer for the re-release of the first FF film "The Fast and the Furious", scheduled for arrival on August 21, to mark the occasion of its 25th anniversary.
"Fast Forever" is scheduled to be released in cinemas on March 17, 2028. It will be directed by Louis Leterrier, who also directed "Fast X". Michael Lesslie wrote the screenplay, creating a new version of the script to conclude the story.
"Fast Forever" continues directly from the dramatic ending of "Fast X". The film will resolve its major cliffhanger while bringing back many familiar faces. Vin Diesel returns as Dominic Toretto alongside Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, and Ludacris as Tej Parker. Jason Momoa is back as the dangerous villain Dante Reyes, while Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Gal Gadot are also expected to play important roles in the finale.
Other fan-favourite characters, including Han (Sung Kang) and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), are also expected to return despite the uncertain fate of their characters in "Fast X". This follows the franchise's tradition of surprising comebacks after seemingly impossible situations.
Vin Diesel has also revealed that the final movie will pay tribute to "The Fast and the Furious". The story will focus more on street racing, fast cars, and the close bond between the characters, returning to the series' roots. Diesel has also hinted that the film will honour the late Paul Walker and find a meaningful way to include his beloved character, Brian O'Connor.
With its mix of action, nostalgia, and family, "Fast Forever" aims to give fans a memorable finale to one of Hollywood's most successful action franchises.
