According to the CBFC certification document issued on July 23, the English-language 3D version of the film, along with English subtitles, received clearance only after the studio implemented a set of modifications. The most significant change is the removal of two kissing scenes, appearing around the 44-minute and 57-minute marks, with the combined visual cuts totalling about eight seconds.
Apart from the visual edits, the board directed the makers to mute certain objectionable words and remove them from the subtitles at three separate points in the film. One such edit occurs before the interval, while the remaining two appear in the second half. A static anti-liquor warning has also been added during scenes depicting alcohol consumption.
Following these changes, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" was granted a UA 13+ certificate, allowing children below the age of 13 to watch the film under parental guidance. The certified runtime is 144 minutes and 52 seconds, or approximately two hours, 24 minutes and 52 seconds.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" marks the 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth standalone Spider-Man film within the franchise. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film follows Peter Parker four years after the events of "Spider-Man: No Way Home", with the story placing him in an emotionally isolated phase as he watches his former friends move on without him.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker and Spider-Man, while Zendaya returns as MJ and Jacob Batalon reprises his role as Ned Leeds. The film also features Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Hulk, while Sadie Sink joins the franchise in an undisclosed role.
The film is scheduled to release in Indian cinemas on July 30, a day ahead of its worldwide rollout. It will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, expanding its release across multiple markets in the country.
