The team: Salli Richardson-Whitfield, a returning director from Season 1 who also serves as an executive producer; Georgi Banks-Davies, a new addition known for her work in "I Hate Suzie", who is set to direct the first block of episodes for the second season; Clare Kilner, a new addition whose notable credits include "House of the Dragon"; and Kitty Green, who is known for ther acclaimed thriller "The Assistant".
Created by showrunner Brad Ingelsby, the new season of the crime drama show, whose first season met with a warm reception from both critics and audiences, features Mark Ruffalo returning alongside newly joined cast member Mahershala Ali and Edgar Ramirez. Mahershala Ali plays Eddie Barnes, a seasoned and highly respected DEA agent based in Philadelphia. Season 2 finds his DEA team colliding with Tom Brandis's (Mark Ruffalo) FBI unit.
Édgar Ramírez is Miguel Contrera, the DEA second-in-command, described as a devoted family man torn between duty and guilt, and Harry Melling has been cast as Brennan Boylan, a "powder-keg" DEA agent prone to explosive tension.
The central plot moves from the first season's focus on outlaw motorcycle gangs towards a high-stakes federal turf war. The official logline states: "Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo) takes the helm of a new task force, but the deeper the operation runs, the harder it is to tell who's the target. The storyline hinges on immense conflict between Tom Brandis's returning FBI team and Eddie Barnes's newly arriving DEA unit."
