With an estimated international total of Rs 14.08 crore (est.), "Blast" has officially become the second-highest-grossing Tamil film in the overseas market after it surpassed the lifetime overseas total of "Youth" (est. Rs 11.40 crore). It now trails "Thaai Kizhavi" lifetime overseas earnings of Rs 20 crore+ (est.), sitting comfortably on the list of highest-grossing mid-budget Tamil films outside India.

"Blast" commands a clear lead in international territories, outperforming other mid-budget movies like the romantic sci-fi comedy "Love Insurance Kompany", by nearly Rs 3 crore. Despite trailing "Youth" domestically and worldwide, with a difference of a few crores between them, the Preity Mukundhan-Abhirami action thriller compensated in the international markets by pulling in around Rs 2.65 crore more than "Youth".

While "Blast" rules the mid-budget segment, it remains well below the tremendous success of the mega-budget, star-driven vehicles like Suriya's "Karuppu", which dominated the 2026 charts with an overseas gross of Rs 80.90 crore.

Meanwhile, the movie will reportedly premiere on Netflix on June 25, nearly a month after its theatrical release date. The debut of filmmaker Subash K Raj, "Blast" was released theatrically on May 28. It will be available for streaming in multiple South Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

By now, the movie, bankrolled by AGS Entertainment, has already collected over Rs 68 crore worldwide against a reported Rs 18 crore budget, faring better than even big star vehicles like Dhanush's "Kara" and Sivakarthikeyan's "Parasakthi".

With a crisp and fast-paced screenplay, the film fetched instant audience applause and big numbers at the box office in two weeks. The story concerns a father, mother and daughter with a martial artis background who stand up to a ruthless crime syndicate that becomes involved after a financial transaction is interrupted, creating ripples in the criminal underworld.
