It's been 16 days since its release, and Arjun Sarja's movie "Blast" has been doing steady third-week business with no drop in collections. It has been maintaining a daily business of above Rs 1 crore for the past week, as per Sacnilk box office data. The home invasion action thriller, also starring Preity Mukundhan and Abhirami in prominent roles, has already collected Rs 61.74 crore.
It has grossed close to Rs 50 crore in India — Rs 47.74 crore as of the morning of Day 17 — and netted Rs 41.52 crore domestically.
Interestingly, it is the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2026 in Kerala after Suriya's "Karuppu", even though the latter earned above Rs 300 crore worldwide. The total Kerala gross collection for "Blast" after its 16th day stands at approximately Rs 12.33 crore, as per data gathered from various sources.
The movie, which marked the directorial debut of Subash K. Raj, has enjoyed phenomenal longevity in the state, driven by exceptional word-of-mouth that allowed it to outperform several bigger global hits in this specific territory. “Blast” is currently on track to potentially match/overtake the lifetime Kerala gross of "Karuppu", which stands slightly above Rs 14.25 crore.
"Blast" is said to be Arjun's highest-grossing solo release. His biggest solo commercial blockbusters were 1990s cult classics, "Gentleman" (1993) and "Mudhalvan" (1999), both directed by Shankar. When adjusting for modern ticket pricing and market expansion, "Blast" has cleanly shattered the action king’s historical box office benchmarks. The film has also turned out to be a breakthrough of sorts for Preity Mukundhan, whose action blocks earned audience applause.
The same goes for Suriya's "Karuppu", which turned out to be the highest-grossing film of the actor's career just as it completed its month-long run before its OTT release.
