Arjun Sarja starrer Blast is still wooing moviegoers to theatres as it holds steady in the second week. Going with the current momentum, we can easily predict that the Tamil movie will cross ₹40 crore in worldwide collections in the second weekend.
The Tamil martial arts movie directed by debutante Subash K. Raj was released on May 28. It also stars Abhirami and Preity Mukhundhan in prominent roles. Arjun Chidambaram, Dileepan, Bala Hasan, John Kokken and Ramesh Narayan are also part of the cast.
On Day 9, Blast netted ₹74 lakh from 1,108 shows in domestic box office till 6 pm, according to Sacnilk. The film has a total net domestic collection of ₹26.52 crore while the gross domestic collection was calculated at ₹30.5 crore.
Blast recorded a worldwide collection of ₹38 crore on Day 9. By Saturday, the movie can easily cross ₹40 crore.
Produced by AGS Entertainment with a budget of ₹18 crore, Blast had achieved break-even within the first four days of release.
Blast, which netted ₹1.25 crore from Indian theatres on Day 1, did better in the following days. It raked in ₹2.15 crore on Day 2, while surging further during the weekend to ₹4.55 crore on Saturday and ₹6 crore on Sunday.
There was a natural decline in the week days. Blast bagged ₹3.6 crore on Day 5, ₹3.45 on Day 6, ₹2.75 crore on Day 7 and ₹2.03 crore on Day 8.
