Ben Kingsley ("Schindler's List", "Sexy Beast") and Max Minghella ("Industry", "The Social Network") have joined the cast of "The White Lotus" Season 4 and more round out the ensemble for Mike White‘s acclaimed HBO anthology series, as per Deadline.

The duo joins recently announced principal cast members such as Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz. Season 4 will also feature Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.

Creator Mike White is once again handling writing and directing duties. White is also serving as executive producer alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine. There has been no official premiere date yet.

Season 4 is set in France, with the French Riviera, in the neighbourhood of Cannes, St. Tropez and Monaco, Paris, and Côte d’Azur as the key locations. The Cannes Film Festival is said to be the backdrop of the events..

Helena Bonham Carter was originally attached to star but a report in Deadline quoted an HBO spokesperson as saying that "the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set.” Another name is being considered for the recasting process. A later report from the outlet revealed that Carter's character has been omitted completely and that another original character was added for actress Laura Dern.

"The White Lotus" has seen its popularity and viewership climb steadily with each season, becoming one of HBO's most significant cultural hits. 

The Season 3 finale, which aired in April 2025, currently holds the record for the most-watched episode of the series with 6.2 million cross-platform viewers on its first night. According to Variety, Season 3 viewership registered a 51% increase from the Season 2 finale and a 158% increase from the Season 3 premiere. The show remains a critical darling, with Season 2 holding a 94% approval rating and Season 3 a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It has won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes, specifically dominating the limited and anthology series categories.
