Something of this sort has not happened before. When the original "Dhurandhar" was released on Netflix, many expected the follow-up to land on the same platform. However, it was later announced that "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" will be out on JioHotstar. But we now hear of another interesting development, as the Ranveer Singh blockbuster completes a 50-day run in theatres.
It seems the makers are going for a different strategy when it comes to the home viewing experience. While JioHotstar has yet to make an official announcement on when they'll premiere the film, Netflix has quietly updated the platform with a slot for a "Raw & Undekha" (raw and unseen) version of the Aditya Dhar-directed spy sequel — but for overseas subscribers only.
This means previously unseen footage — additional footage not in the original theatrical version — will be available. How many extra minutes? Three, as per the duration mentioned on Netflix. Basically, 3 hours 52 minutes. But will it be available for Indian subscribers on JioHotstar? That's not yet known.
Aside from toppling "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" from its #2 spot on the top worldwide box office blockbusters list, "Dhurandhar 2" already attained several unprecedented milestones during its 2026 theatrical run.
The combined gross of the "Dhurandhar" duology has crossed more than Rs 3,000 crore, making it the highest-grossing franchise in Indian history, surpassing both "Baahubali" and "Pushpa" in combined gross.
"Dhurandhar 2" is the first-ever Hindi film to net Rs 1,000 crore in India. This was achieved in just 18 days. It also currently holds the distinction of being the only Indian film in the global top 10 for the year 2026.
The film got a massive opening with Rs 102.55 crore, combined with the advance sales. Besides, it became the first Hindi film ever to cross Rs. 100 crore in Hyderabad and attained the same mark in Karnataka. Achieving Rs 1,500 crore in worldwide gross in its second week is another milestone.
In North America, it surpassed "Baahubali 2" to become the highest-grossing Indian release ever, while also setting the record as the first to cross $25 million in the region. It now holds the record for the highest-grossing adult-rated Indian film of all time.
It took over 45 days of theatrical run for "Dhurandhar 2" to officially surpass the Rs 1,788.06 crore global lifetime gross of "Baahubali 2". This achievement was unlocked on its seventh Saturday, officially making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film globally.
Also starring Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and Arjun Rampal, "Dhurandhar 2" was produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios.
