Akshay Kumar's "Bhooth Bangla" has hit the Rs 100 crore mark in domestic net earnings after a week-long run. Its worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 136 crore (and counting). It continues to do a daily business of Rs 5 crore and above.
These numbers, despite the ongoing IPL, indicate a strong performance in the first week. Crossing the Rs 135 crore mark worldwide in just seven days puts the Priyadarshan-directed horror comedy in a very solid position, considering its domestic net of Rs 85 crore (and counting).
"Bhooth Bangla" has delivered a significant turnaround for Akshay Kumar, marking one of his strongest first-week performances in recent years, outperforming most of his 2024–2025 releases such as "Jolly LLB 3", "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan", "Sarfira", and "Khel Khel Mein".
However, it trails behind the opening-week collection of "Housefull 5", "Sooryavanshi", "Sky Force", and "OMG 2".
"Bhooth Bangla" has the Priyadarshan factor to its advantage, given the director's long and fruitful collaboration on a few hits before this. The film, which reunites the duo after a 16-year gap, has broken a long dry spell in Akshay Kumar’s filmography. The reunion also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav.
In comparison, "Housefull 5" had a higher opening week, but "Bhooth Bangla" has shown better weekday stability, with Tuesday even showing a Rs 8 crore spike.
The worldwide total of Rs 135.45 crore in seven days puts it above the lifetime worldwide collections of Akshay's "Mission Raniganj (Rs 46 crore) and Selfiee (Rs 24.60 crore).
