As of April 13, 2026, "Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros" has achieved a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 162.50 crore in just 11 days of its theatrical run. It registered its highest gross on the second Sunday (Rs 8.50 crore), nearly matching the first Sunday gross of Rs 8.55 crore.
The film, headlined by a cast of social media influencers and newcomers, has emerged as a major commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2026 so far. When compared to the original "Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys", the numbers are significantly higher.
Made on a modest reported budget of Rs 10 –12 crore (approx.), the film has registered profits of over 500% within its first nine days.
It became one of the fastest Malayalam films to cross the Rs 100-crore mark worldwide, achieving the feat in just 7 days.
The film is performing exceptionally well in its home state. Within 11 days, it has already secured a spot among the top 10 highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time, recently surpassing the lifetime collections of films like "Pulimurugan", "2018", "Aadujeevitham", "Aavesham", "Sarvam Maya", "Lucifer", and "Premalu".
"Vaazha 2" collected Rs 8.50 crore on its 11th day (a Sunday), which is nearly five times the collection of "Premalu" (Rs 1.70 crore) on its 11th day.
Here, the comparison with "Premalu" is more significant since it was also a coming-of-age blockbuster featuring youngsters. The Naslen-Mamitha Baiju had grossed only Rs 57.83 crore on its 11th day, whereas "Vaazha 2" did Rs 162 crore. The latter's performance is more impressive because all the lead actors are making their full-fledged movie debuts.
Naslen and Mamitha Baiju were already established actors among the younger crop of actors when they did "Premalu".
However, the lead cast of "Vaazha 2" was already familiar to audiences who had been following the social media content of the actors.
The record-breaking momentum and higher screen count in the 2026 market have to be taken into consideration. While "Premalu" maintained a steady hold with 1,121 shows on day 11, "Vaazha 2" commanded a massive 2,196 shows due to its status as a highly anticipated sequel.
The film's steady performance during weekdays and significant jumps over weekends suggest it is on track to challenge the Rs 200 crore milestone globally.
