Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) has scripted box office history by emerging as the highest-grossing Indian film worldwide without any contribution from the West Asian or Chinese markets.

The remarkable worldwide box office collections of Dangal and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion were aided by incredible collections from these regions. Dangal was a massive hit in Chinese theatres, which was pivotal to it becoming the highest-grossing Indian movie ever on the world stage. The success of the Aditya Dhar-directorial has rewritten the conception that Chinese and Middle Eastern runs are mandatory for an Indian movie to become a global blockbuster.

Meanwhile, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has also become the first film ever to top ₹1,000 crore nett in Hindi. The spy-action drama crossed the four-digit mark in 24 days. In second place is its own prequel (Dhurandhar), which had grossed ₹840.20 crore in Hindi, according to Sacnilk. As per the box office data tracking website, Dhurandhar 2 is well-positioned to breach the ₹1,700-crore mark in 25 days — becoming the first Bollywood movie to do so within that timeframe.

The film had earlier managed an opening week collection of over ₹600 crore, which laid the foundations for the success and records that followed. It maintained strong momentum for weeks with minimal drops and went on to cross ₹1,600 crore worldwide, entering the list of all-time top grossers, Sacnilk said.

Dhurandhar 2 performed exceptionally well in both single screens and multiplexes, with a high repeat audience turnout boosting its long-term collections. Strong sequel hype and brand recall drove massive footfalls, ultimately setting a new ceiling for Bollywood's box office potential.

Easily the most anticipated Hindi film of the year, Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released on 19 March in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. It stars Singh alongside R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
