As of April 12, 2026, Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest release, "Love Insurance Kompany" (LIK), has shown steady growth on its second day. However, it has failed to match the momentum of his 2025 releases "Dragon" and "Dude", which still hold the record for his highest Day 2 collections, when studying the trend of significant jumps on their first Saturdays.
Written and directed by Vignesh Shivan, the Nayanthara co-production registered second-day India net earnings of Rs 7.70 crore with a 9.2% growth, according to box office tracking portal Sacnilk. Comparatively, "Dragon" earned Rs 10.80 crore with a 66.2% growth on Day 2, while "Dude" collected Rs 10.40 crore with a growth of 6.7%. "Love Today" earned Rs 4.10 crore but witnessed the highest growth on Day 2 with 67.3%.
After two days, the India-total gross collection of "Love Insurance Kompany" stands at around Rs 18.08 crore, and the India-net Rs 15.60 crore.
Currently, "Dragon" holds Pradeep's personal record for the biggest Day 2 leap, bringing its two-day India net total to ₹17.30 crore.
On the other hand, despite having a smaller percentage jump, "Dude" maintained a very high volume, collecting a two-day total of over Rs 20 crore net.
Despite the lowest absolute number, Rs 4.10 crore, it must be noted that "Love Today" set the precedent for Pradeep's box office reliability, nearly doubling its opening numbers on Day 2 through sheer word-of-mouth.
"Love Insurance Company" also features SJ Suryah and Krithi Shetty in lead roles. It was shot by Ravi Varman, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
The film is set in 2040, where people rely heavily on a dating app called Love Insurance Kompany (LIK). It doesn't just find matches; it manages relationships like insurance policies, complete with predetermined "breakup results" and conditions.
Pradeep plays Vibe Vassey, a man who believes in traditional, "organic" love and comes from a phone-less community. Krithi Shetty plays Dheema, a woman who is completely devoted to the tech-driven approach to romance, placing her full trust in the app to find her a soulmate.
When the two meet, the app declares them incompatible. However, despite Dheema's willingness to accept the app's verdict, Vassey sets out on a quest to prove that real love cannot be measured or dictated by algorithms.
