'Dhurandhar 2' box office: Did Ranveer Singh blockbuster beat Hindi version of Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2'?

The Aditya Dhar-directed sequel has already surpassed the lifetime gross of the 'Uri' filmmaker's box office smash 'Dhurandhar'

As of March 31, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" is officially the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India, overtaking its predecessor "Dhurandhar" in 11 days. It has also surpassed the Hindi version of "Pushpa 2", which held the previous record.

As of late March 2026, the "Dhurandhar" franchise has emerged as a massive rival to "Pushpa 2: The Rule". While the Hindi version of "Pushpa 2" set the record in late 2024, the "Dhurandhar" films (released in late 2025 and early 2026) have recently surpassed those figures to claim the top spots in Hindi cinema history.

"Dhurandhar 2" reached the Rs 1,000 crore India gross milestone in just 11 days, jointly matching "Pushpa 2" as the fastest to achieve this feat. "Dhurandhar 2" maintained daily Hindi net collections of over Rs 40 crore for 9 consecutive days, outperforming "Pushpa 2", which held that streak for 5 days.

Globally, "Pushpa 2" (all languages) has the upper hand with Rs 1,742 crore. However, the "Dhurandhar" sequel is currently the 4th highest-grossing Indian film worldwide and continues to rise with impressive momentum.

While "Pushpa 2" was a pan-India phenomenon originating from the South, "Dhurandhar 2" — a Hindi original — has demonstrated historic crossover appeal, becoming the fastest Hindi film to cross Rs 200 crore in South India alone.

The India gross of "Pushpa 2" (Hindi) is ₹970 crore, whereas "Dhurandhar" made Rs 1,007.85 crore and "Dhurandhar 2" Rs 1,042.23 crore+, respectively.

On Day 12, the collection saw a major drop (62.8 % according to Sacnilk), registering the lowest single-day collection (Rs 25.30 crore) compared to the net collection of Rs 68.10 crore the previous day.

Combined with the India gross collection of Rs 1,042.23 crore, the worldwide gross collection totalled Rs 1,392.23 crore, as of March 31, 2026.

Some attribute this drop to the ongoing IPL. However, this is still a strong and healthy number and trade analysts don't see the IP drastically affecting the Ranveer Singh movie.

Produced by Aditya Dhar, Lokesh Dhar, and Jyoti Deshpande, the film's other principal cast members include Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, Manav Gohil, Ankit Sagar, and Bimal Oberoi. Shashwat Sachdev wrote the chartbusting music.
