"Mirzapur: The Movie" has completed its opening week run by entering the 150-crore club, firmly establishing itself as one of the biggest successes of 2026. The film collected ₹157.95 crore net in India in its first eight days, giving it the third-biggest opening week of the year. Its worldwide gross has reached an impressive ₹226.19 crore by Day 8, per Sacnilk's box office data.

The film has also done better in comparison to other major recent Hindi-language releases: "Toxic" earned ₹143.77 crore in its first week from its Hindi version, while "Awarapan 2" collected ₹156.04 crore. It also surpassed the first-week collection of "Hanuman Ansh", which recorded ₹153.13 crore in its opening week. However, the devotional film is not an ideal comparison since it was made on a reported budget of about ₹2 crore.

What makes the film's success particularly interesting is its journey from streaming to cinemas. Unlike traditional Bollywood sequels that depend heavily on expensive stars and large promotional campaigns, "Mirzapur: The Movie", which is headlined by Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu, Ali Fazal, and Ravi Kishan, among others, benefited from the huge cult following built by the original OTT series. That popularity helped the film attract audiences quickly and even compete with major star-driven projects.

The film's second-week opening performance is equally encouraging. Despite new competition from the Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan starrer "Haiwaan", it earned ₹9.50 crore on its second Friday, representing a mere 5% drop from the previous day. This strong hold is an encouraging indicator of positive word of mouth and points toward a powerful second weekend.
