'Dhurandhar 2' worldwide box office collection: Positive momentum for Ranveer Singh film as it becomes the new fastest 500-crore grosser

The Aditya Dhar-directed action blockbuster managed to achieve in three days what other big-scale movies like "Kalki 2898 AD", "KGF - Chapter 2", "Salaar - Part 1", and "Jawan" took four days

It's a classic case of cracking another instant milestone at lightning speed. "Dhurandhar 2" has officially collected Rs 404.54 crore in India in three days. Now, combine this with the overseas gross of Rs 96.50 crore in the same span, and the overall tally has crossed Rs 501.4 crore. It joins the league of the other notable blockbusters that achieved this milestone in three days — 'Baahubali 2', 'RRR', and 'Pushpa 2'.

The Ranveer Singh-starrer saw a considerable improvement on Day 3, according to Sacnilk analysis. The collection saw a 40% growth compared ot the 21.3 % drop on Day 2. On Day 3, the India total alone crossed Rs 113 crore compared to the Rs 80.72 crore of Day 2.

The performance indicates that the Eid and Ugadi holidays did wonders for the Aditya Dhar spy thriller. If this momentum is sustained, "Dhurandhar 2" won't take much time to cross the 1000 crore mark in the next couple of weeks.

"Dhurandhar 2" has now the distinction of achieving the 500-crore milestone faster than other blockbusters such as "Kalki 2898 AD", "KGF - Chapter 2", "Salaar - Part 1", and "Jawan". The last four films took four days to collect the same amount worldwide.

The positive surge in collection percentage indicates that "Dhurandhar 2" is expected to overtake the lifetime gross of movies like "Coolie", "Saiyaara", "Tiger Zinda Hai", "Padmaavat", "Sanju", "Leo", "Sultan", "Jailer" and "Baahubali: The Beginning" by the following week.

Despite having a longer runtime than its predecessor, "Dhurandhar 2" has the rare distinction of building on the hype generated by "Dhurandhar", which crossed the 1000-crore mark a month after its theatrical release in December. The first film was running to packed theatres even at the time of its OTT release on Netflix.

"Dhurandhar 2" saw Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Rakesh Bedi reprising their roles from the original. Rampal takes over the role of the film's chief antagonist from Akshaye Khanna in "Dhurandhar".
