Alia Bhatt's "Alpha", the next entry in Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe, which also features Sharvari in a lead role, has an official theatrical release date. The makers announced that the Shiv Rawail's ("The Railway Men") directorial will hit theatres on July 10.

It was originally expected to be released on Christmas last year and then on April 17.

Recently, some speculations about the film being beset by production problems and delays were circulating on social media. But everything seems to be on track.

"Alpha" is the first YRF Spy Universe chapter led by an all-female lead cast, with secondary integral characters played by Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor.

"Alpha" joins Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan", Salman Khan's "Tiger" and Hrithik Roshan's "War" in the Spy Universe that kicked off in 2012 with the Salman Khan-starrer "Ek Tha Tiger".

It's not yet known whether any of these characters will have a crossover with Alia's character. The film was teased at the end of "War 2" starring Hrithik and NTR Jr, in a post-credits scene where Bobby Deol shows up to recruit a young girl for a covert operations project christened "Alpha".

The first "War", headlined by Hrithik and Tiger Shroff, was followed by Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" in 2023, which had Deepika Padukone as the female lead.

Fans are also expecting the announcements of "Pathaan 2" with Shah Rukh, and "Tiger vs Pathaan", starring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. If it works out as planned, we'll see the duo in another exciting reunion.

Aside from "Alpha", Alia is reuniting with "Gangubai Kathiawadi" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for "Love & War" with hubby Ranbir Kapoor and "Raazi" co-star Vicky Kaushal. The project is being made on a massive budget.
