What's next for Yash after 'Toxic'? It's not 'KGF: Chapter 3': Report

"Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" arrives in theatres on March 19, 2026 — the same day as Aditya Dhar's "Dhurandhar - Part 2" starring Ranveer Singh

According to a new report, Kannada superstar Yash may not be pursuing a third instalment in the "KGF" film series after the release of "Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups". He might go the Prithviraj Sukumaran route, if a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama is to be believed.

A plan to direct for the first time?

“Throughout Toxic, Yash was a very close collaborator with his director, Geetu Mohandas. You could almost say he was a co-director on the film. His input has gone into almost every sequence. But Yash won’t be taking any credit, as he considers Geetu Mohandas the true and rightful helmer of the project, while he sees himself as just another technician on the team,” said the source close to the actor.

For a while now, there have been speculations about Yash co-directing "Toxic". This quote seems to confirm that he was indeed hands-on in the project, suggesting that he was testing his directorial skills, albeit in a small way, on the project he is attached to as a star and producer.

This recalls the days when Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran ("Lucifer" and the upcoming "Varanasi") was known to helm the camera for a scene or two in projects directed by other filmmakers, even the veterans.

"Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups" arrives in theatres on March 19, 2026 — the same day as Aditya Dhar's "Dhurandhar - Part 2". An official announcement regarding Yash's directorial debut is expected to follow after, if the above source is indeed true.
