There have been a series of developments pertaining to Kamal Haasan and his home banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, lately. It has also caused some confusion regarding the number of confirmed (at the moment) projects and who is directing and starring in them. There are four so far.

To start with, there was the recently announced Rajinikanth project, tentatively titled Thalaivar 173, which was initially supposed to be directed by Sundar C. After the "Anbe Sivam" director dropped out, the team eventually locked Cibi Chakravarthi, the director of Sivakarthikeyan-starrer "Don”. The team, which includes co-producer R Mahendran of Turmeric Media, is aiming for a Pongal 2027 release. It has music by Anirudh.

While on Sivakarthikeyan, the actor is reuniting with RKFI for another project, tentatively titled SK 26, after their previous collaboration "Amaran" co-starring Sai Pallavi. A first-look poster is being released on Feb. 16. Turmeric Media is a co-producing partner on this one, too.

The third project, also produced by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran, is the directorial debut of popular stunt choreographers collectively known as Anbariv. It has a script by Syam Pushkaran ("Kumbalangi Nights", "Joji"). It is tentatively titled KH 237.

The fourth is the much-anticipated  on-screen reunion of Rajinikanth and Kamal. According to multiple reports, Nelson Dilipkumar ("Doctor", "Jailer") will be helming it. However, an official announcement is awaited.

Rajinikanth was last seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj's "Coolie" and Kamal Haasan in "Thug Life". The latter also has the "Kalki 2898 AD" sequel in the pipeline.
