The Dhurandhar fever hasn't faded away yet but cinephiles have to get ready for Dhurandhar 2 that is slated to release on March 19, 2026 for the Eid season. Historically, the first and second parts of a film have never released in such a short gap if we consider mega budget films. For the Dhurandhar series, it will be different and the updates about the film are upping the already mammoth buzz to another level.

Actress Yami Gautam, who is also director Aditya Dhar's wife, is slated to play an important cameo in Dhurandhar 2. While the exact details of her character aren't revealed officially yet, there is a massive speculation doing the rounds. Reports state that Yami is allegedly playing the role of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

If these rumours are true, it would be another stellar casting, given the general resemblances between the two. Also, Yami is renowned for portraying fierce characters on screen and while this role wouldn't have any action episodes, she could create a superb impact during her brief cameo in the film.

As the timeline of the Dhurandhar series goes through the 2000s and into the early part of 2010s, it is inevitable to have the late Mrs Bhutto's persona in the film, even if the film proclaims to be a work of fiction. For the unversed, Mrs Bhutto was the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan and was the 11th PM of the country.

She was at the helm for two terms, first from 1988-1990 and later, from 1993-1996. Mrs Bhutto also served as the Leader of Opposition for a considerable time while leading the Pakistan People's Party (PPP). On 27th December 2007, she was assassinated by a suicide bomber in Rawalpindi.
