Sunny Deol, or most recently, Lieutenant Colonel Fateh Singh Kaler from Border 2, is not yet ready to keep his action films aside, as his very next film is set to be another high-octane entertainer.

The 68-year-old veteran actor is currently riding high on the success of Anurag Singh's Border 2, which bagged Rs 294.40 crore in the India box office (net) and about Rs 400 crore at the global box office (gross) after crossing the two-week mark. He is all set to take on a grand action film from Nikhil Nagesh Bhat next.

Despite directing only a handful of films, Bhat is known for his skill in writing, direction, seen in films like Kill (2023) and Apurva (2023).

Of the two films, the indie action drama Kill—based on a true incident that Bhat had witnessed—earned him high praise from critics and moviegoers for its rawness, action choreography, cinematography, and a few award-winning performances from Lakshya Lalwani, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala.

“It’s a big-scale action film, packed with massy moments and whistle-worthy sequences. The narrative is rooted, raw, and real, and audiences will get to see Sunny Deol in a completely new avatar,” a source in the know told Pinkvilla about Deol's new film.

While the film's name and plot details are currently under wraps, the film is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2026.

The source added that the veteran Bollywood actor is extremely excited for the project, which will be produced by a leading South Indian studio in association with a prominent Hindi producer.
