Actress Eesha Rebba on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police station, alleging that she was being harassed with vulgar and defamatory comments on her Instagram posts.
She complained that an unidentified individual has been repeatedly posting offensive remarks to target her on the social media platform and tarnish her reputation. She also submitted details of the Instagram accounts in question as well as screenshots of the offensive comments.
Police have registered a case based on the complaint and a probe is on to identify the person handling the Instagram account. It is believed that the accused was harassing the actress using a fake account on Instagram. Police said appropriate action will be taken as per law once the accused is traced.
The Telugu actress is known for her roles in Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha (2013), Bandipotu (2015), Ami Thumi (2017) and Awe (2018). She made her debut with Life is Beautiful in 2012. Her other films include Brand Babu, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, Subrahmanyapuram and Savyasachi.
She made her Malayalam and Tamil debut with the bilingual film, Ottu, which was shot simultaneously in both languages. She also won hearts of fans with Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, which is a remake of Malayalam hit Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey.
