Border 2 has become Diljit Dosanjh’s highest-grossing film of all time within a week of its theatrical release. Day 6 was the Bollywood war drama's first Wednesday, and it grossed ₹17.74 crore domestically, pushing the overall collection to ₹273.55 crore gross (₹231.83 crore nett) at the Indian box office, reports showed. Earlier on Monday, which was a national holiday, Border 2 collected ₹59 crore.

While the collections saw a natural dip afterwards on working weekdays, the cumulative total remains highly impressive for the genre, box office-focused platforms said. The movie started with a ₹30 crore nett opening and grew to ₹35 crore nett on Saturday, but the real escalation came on Sunday when it zoomed past ₹50 crore nett, eventually ending with ₹52 crore nett.

Meanwhile, the overseas collection reached ₹40.00 crore over the first six days, Sacnilk said in a report. This has taken the global collection of the movie past ₹313 crore—which is more than what Good Newwz managed (₹311 crore)—to become Diljit Dosanjh’s highest-grossing film globally, reports claimed. As things stand, the period drama could well become the first film of his career to cross the ₹400 crore or even the ₹500 crore mark, the report said.

As of Thursday afternoon, Border 2 has earned around ₹2.7 crore India nett on its seventh day across all languages, and with the evening shows lined up, the tally could well go up. Sacnilk claimed the movie performed the best in the Chennai region on Thursday morning with 18% occupancy. The morning shows on the sixth day had about a 5 per cent drop, while the afternoon shows were also lower than Tuesday's occupancy levels, earlier reports revealed.
