border2 - 1 'Border 2' is set for an excellent Tuesday at the domestic box office

Border 2 recorded a sensational extended opening weekend as it raked in Rs 175 crore nett across the four days. Of course, Republic Day falling on the fourth day was the clincher but film also had to click with the masses, which is what has happened. The opening day wasn't monstrous but the word-of-mouth has spread like wildfire on Sunday and Monday.

Border 2 started with a Rs 30 crore nett opening and grew to Rs 35 crore nett on Saturday but the real escalation came on Sunday when it zoomed past Rs 50 crore nett, eventually ending with Rs 52 crore nett. Then, on Republic Day, the film grew even further to record a mammoth day of Rs 57 crore nett.

Such a stupendous start ensures that the film will be a SUPERHIT at the bare minimum and how much more would depend on its stability in the weekdays. By that metric, Border 2 has passed the Tuesday test with flying colours as it is recording a strong hold at the domestic box office.

Morning shows on the fifth day have shown minor drops when compared to the opening day. However, there would be a different in ticket pricing and that would affect the collections for the day. The afternoon shows are expected to show growth while the evening and night shows are expected to be the gamechangers for the weekdays.

Early estimates indicate a minimum of Rs 20 crore nett for the fifth day and the collections could be anywhere between Rs 20-25 crore nett. These are excellent trends and suggest that the film is on track to become a massive blockbuster.
