'Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil' box office collection day 4: Massive Sunday loading for Jiiva starrer as daily surge continues

It was a sensational Saturday for Jiiva's Pongal release Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil as it grossed close to Rs 5.5 crore in Tamil Nadu. Early estimates had hinted at a possibility of Rs 5 crore but the evening and night shows have gone over the roof with plenty of extra shows charted for this comedy entertainer.

The collections are spiking on an incredible level daily. Remember, the opening day collections were around Rs 1.75 crore in Tamil Nadu and the second day shot up to Rs 3.25 crore and Saturday's figure of Rs 5.5 crore means a three-day gross of Rs 10.50 crore, which is a mammoth figure as this film has only released in 200 cinemas in the state.

Sunday is set to be an even bigger day for Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil as morning shows have shown a huge 25 percent jump when compared to Saturday's samples. It is fair to assume that the Rs 6 crore gross will easily be breached in Tamil Nadu today and possibly, could even reach Rs 6.5 crore.

Given how the evening and night shows fared on Saturday, there is also scope for more but today marks the end of the long Pongal holidays. Hence, the night shows may not necessarily show the same kind of surge that it did on Saturday night. Regardless, the film is set to show a big jump and at this point, it is difficult to predict a clear estimate for the fourth day.

The four-day weekend for Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil will be around Rs 16-17 crore - an outstanding opening for the Jiiva starrer. Monday is likely to see an increase in screen count too, given the huge demand for the film across all sectors in the state.
