Popular Bengali singer-influencer Debolina Nandy endured a narrow escape from death on Sunday (January 4), after surviving a suicide attempt moments after doing a Facebook live video. While the attempt took place, she was with her mother who was fast asleep, completely unaware of Debolina's mental state or plans.
Soon after, Debolina was hospitalized with the help of her friend and actor-content creator Sayak Chakraborty who posted the hospital update through a social media post on his account. While the scenario seemed critical, reports state that Debolina is now out of danger but still remains in hospital.
The live video before her suicide attempt saw Debolina in a visibly traumatized state, mentioning about her family issues and how she doesn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. After a strong emotional speech on live video, Debolina signed off by saying "I tried a lot but I couldn't do it anymore".
Debolina's followers were initially unsure of what to conclude from the video but once Sayak put up the hospital update, it was clear that the singer-influencer had tried to end her life. She is married to Probaho Nandy who is a pilot at Air India. Social media posts from Debolina suggest potential family issues with her husband's family as a major reason behind her suicide attempt.
In some of her recent social media videos, Debolina had mentioned about her in-laws asking her to choose between them and her mother, causing potential emotional damage. This issues have reportedly spiked up over the last 12 months, mostly after Debolina got married to Probaho.

Since her teenage days, Debolina has been a dedicated singer, both on stage and playback, and shares a deep bond with her mother. Understandably, these family issues have played a huge part in Debolina's mental breakdown, if her old social media videos are anything to go by.
Probaho and his family are yet to react to Debolina's claims. They have also not visited her at the hospital yet. Debolina is a popular stage performer and has sung many independent songs that are available on YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify.
