Deepika Padukone launches new initiative on 40th birthday, aims to promote new talent

On the occasion of her 40th birthday, actress Deepika Padukone has announced the launch of a new initiative. Its goal is to promote new and young creative talents. Named The Onset Program, it follows her Create With Me platform. The idea is to foster and promote gifted artists in the world of Indian cinema, television, and advertising. She shared a video with the caption, "I am beyond thrilled to launch my passion project - OnSet - an experiential learning program for technicians across various departments wanting to build a career in Indian film, television, and advertising."

In her video statement, Deepika said, "For the past year, I have been seriously thinking about identifying the best creative talent from India and abroad, and giving them a platform to be seen and heard. I am extremely happy to announce the launch of The Onset Program, and I am eagerly looking forward to introducing you all to the next generation of creative talent." On the work front, Deepika, who was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, will be appearing in Shah Rukh Khan's King (directed by Siddharth Anand) and Allu Arjun's upcoming big-budget fantasy (directed by Atlee).

Deepika made her debut in the film industry as the titular lead in the Kannada film Aishwarya in 2006. Her Bollywood introduction came in 2007 with Om Shanti Om while she first gained international recognition in 2017 with her role in XXX: Return of Xander Cage, starring opposite Vin Diesel. Her global impact was further affirmed by her iconic appearances at the Cannes Film Festival, at the Academy Awards as the presenter of the Oscar-winning ‘Naatu Naatu’, and her 2018 feature on Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list.
