After making waves in the Indian box office with Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, its leading lady Kalyani Priyadarshan is set to make her Bollywood debut with Ranveer Singh-starrer Pralay. The project is a zombie thriller helmed by Jai Mehta, who co-directed the widely celebrated true crime series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story with his father Hansal Mehta.
As per a report, Pralay is set to begin filming in April 2026, following the release of Dhurandhar-Part 2. Ranveer is involved as a co-producer under his home banner Maa Kasam Films in association with Hansal Mehta's True Story Films and Sameer Nair's Applause Entertainment (Scam 1992, Criminal Justice, Black Warrant).
A source quoted by Pinkvilla recently described the project as along the lines of Hollywood zombie thrillers like World War Z and I Am Legend. "It’s a film that requires prolonged pre-production, as the makers will be aiming to create a completely new world. The tone of the film is on the lines of World War Z, and I Am Legend, where the leading man has to fight multiple evils for the sake of his family."
There were earlier conflicting reports that Ranveer is doing Pralay after Don 3 and that Hrithik Roshan is replacing him in the latter. However, the latest update on the project suggests that it is very much on track with Ranveer as the lead and that the only casting change is in the antagonist role, according to Deccan Chronicle. Rajat Bedi will replace Vikrant Massey as the main baddie in Don 3. It's not yet clear whether Ranveer will shoot Pralay before Don 3 or otherwise. Kiara Advani was also attached to star in the initial stage.
Needless to say, official announcements on the casting and shooting updates are awaited.
