The trailer for Jana Nayagan, Thalapathy Vijay's last film before exiting Tamil cinema, released on Saturday evening, quickly bringing in thousands of excited fans, as well as a couple of eagle-eyed detectives, who spotted two crucial details in the trailer.
Garnering nearly 30 lakh views in less than 24 hours of its release, the trailer promises a stellar end to Vijay's film career, spanning more than three decades in Kollywood.
Yet, keeping emotions aside, those two crucial bits in the trailer have sparked curiosity among wider circles of fans.
The first detail fans noticed was a one-second midnight scene in a forest, where Vijay stands in between two elephants raising their trunks—a visual metaphor that many users have said looked like the flag of his new political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Notably, the elephants are not just raising their trunks, but also also standing on their hind feet, just like in the flag.
"Normal trailer: story, fights, songs ... #JanaNayagan trailer: bonus political easter eggs," a user quipped on X.

"I think his name in the film also referrence for TVK," a another fan speculated on X.

The second detail fans noticed was yet another blink-and-miss moment—the Gemini logo at the bottom-right of one scene in the video, where Vijay's character brandishes a shotgun.
This indicates that that scene—and perhaps a number of other scenes—have utilised AI in some form, much to the dismay of fans.
"The production level went so far that they couldn't remove the Gemini watermark in the #JanaNayagan trailer," an X user quipped.

"Nothing wrong in using AI. If output is good that’s fine. In future most of the film maker going to use AI," another X user wrote, defending the AI use.
