Agastya Nanda's debut film Ikkis is having a strong day at the domestic box office. The war film has opened to decent occupancy on its opening day amidst the euphoria created by the Dhurandhar juggernaut. The film is now widely known as veteran superstar Dharmendra's final film after the legend passed away on 24th November 2025.
Initially slated for a Christmas Day release, the makers of Ikkis decided to postpone the film's release date by a week due to the onslaught by Dhurandhar at the box office. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis has generated reasonable buzz due to powerful promos and the sentiments surrounding Dharmendra's farewell film.
Ikkis had a low opening in the morning shows with occupancy levels around 10-15 percent but noon shows indicated an all-India occupancy average of roughly 30-35 percent. With the word-of-mouth on the positive side, the film has been operating at approximately 45-50 percent during the evening shows.

Early estimates indicate a first day of Rs 7-8 crore nett in India for Ikkis but there also seems to be the recent trend of producers manipulating the numbers on the initial days of a film. However, unlike the first weekend of Dhurandhar that had a clear pattern to it, there hasn't been anything drastic from the makers of Ikkis just yet.
Regardless, the opening is a fair start for Ikkis but the film has been made on a high budget when you factor in the cast and crew in place. Therefore, it ideally needed a double-digit start, although that was always an unrealistic hope to bank on. Now, it will all be about how much it can grow across the weekend and then, the weekdays will need to show stability.
