WATCH | 'My friend...': Crowd goes mad during Vijay's mention about Ajith at 'Jana Nayagan' audio launch

With less than two weeks left for Jana Nayagan, the hype around the film is building steadily. On Saturday (December 27), the film's audio launch was held in Malaysia amidst a reported crowd of approximately 80,000 people in a jam-packed indoor stadium. All the cast and crew of the film were present, headed by Vijay and director H Vinoth.

As is the case with every Vijay film audio launch, the main event was Vijay's speech at the end of the function. With this reportedly being his final film before his full-fledged dive into politics, there was a strong emotional vibe around the 'Thalapathy' speech. One viral moment during his speech was when he mentioned about his peer Ajith.

"Some of our Tamil films vividly remind us of Malaysia," said Vijay during the function.

"For example, the film Billa that featured my friend Ajith"

As soon as Ajith's name was uttered, there was a rave reception among the crowd. It is no secret that Ajith also boasts of a huge fan base in Malaysia which is a country with strong Tamil population. In recent years, Vijay has mentioned Ajith in some of his audio launches, the most notable being Master in 2021.

The Jana Nayagan audio launch had fantastic live music performances from Anirudh Ravichander who has composed the soundtrack and background score for the film. Apart from Vijay, there was a powerful speech from Vinoth as well. Incidentally, this is Vinoth's first film with Vijay after having previously worked twice with Ajith.

Jana Nayagan is slated to release worldwide on January 9.
